With rapid urbanisation, metro projects, increasing vehicular traffic and expanding railway links, the Indian government and increasingly, the private sector, are investing in the construction of bridges to enhance transport infrastructure in India. The 12th five year plan released by the Indian Government for the period 2012-2017 has opened up huge investment opportunities in the construction of roads and bridges, and is a part of the estimated USD 1 trillion spend in India’s infrastructure sector.
Taking place from 17 - 18 May 2012, the 3rd event in IQPC’s Bridges India series will take place in Mumbai to reflect the presence and importance of the country’s biggest bridge contractors and consultants who reside in the city. Focusing on new aspects of bridge design, construction and technology, the 2012 event will feature speakers and experts from across the globe who will uncover new case studies and subject areas directly related to Indian bridge projects.
The conference will also cover various technical aspects of bridge construction like seismic design, sustainability, fast-track construction, rehabilitation of bridges and cable stay bridge building.
